Zonta Club of North Sydney supports various projects undertaken by other Zonta branches or partners.
Share the Dignity is a three-fold Australian charity program that brings dignity to women who are homeless, are at risk, or are experiencing domestic violence. Members of Zonta Club of North Sydney assist by seeking donations for necessities, such as sanitary products (i.e., napkins and Tampax) and toiletries for women in order to provide them with dignity. Zonta Club of North Sydney supports the project by making two annual collections of menstrual products, and a final collection of handbags to be donated at Christmas time. The handbags are filled with essential toiletry items and small luxury items such as purses, reading material, and clothing.
Days for Girls is an international nongovernment organization based in Bellingham, Washington, in the United States. Through menstrual care solutions, health education, and income-generation opportunities, it aims to change the life of young girls, ensuring that they can continue their education. In less than 10 years, 1 million women and girls have been reached in over 120 countries and six continents. Zonta Club of North Sydney assists the Days for Girls Ryde Team by helping to produce the washable sanitary napkins for shipment to developing countries. (For women living without access to basic sanitation, menstruation can be especially challenging.)
